What is Dance Conditioning?

Dance conditioning is specialised movements or exercises done to help improve a dancer’s technique, fitness, strength & flexibility.

Sessions can include Pilates exercises, functional movement patterns, or dance specific exercises. We use the time away from the studio (away from musicality, chorey, artistry, performance stress!) to work on the your placement and posture, your flexibility and your strength. We can focus on specifics such as foot strength, turnout, jumps, balance, or we can work on general strengthening or injury prevention specific to you and your goals. Strength and Conditioning protocol is applied to dance to ensure safety and effectiveness while making sessions fun and enjoyable for dancers (who love to move creatively!)

Individual Coaching

Private coaching is an ideal way to ensure you are guided and supported through every movement. Every exercise is tailored for your needs and we do lots of testing and retesting to keep track on your progress.

What we can work on:

  • dance technique, strength & flexibility
  • preparing for pointe work or advanced training
  • recovering from injury
  • management of hypermobility or scoliosis
  • generally getting stronger, smarter, and better attuned to how your body works

Book a 90min session so we can complete a thorough assessment, an introductory coached session, and receive a personalised home program afterwards. Available in person at Mt Gravatt, or online.
